    Trim length

    When I see posts on Accurate shooter I think of accuracy on the bench. I think most common is 100 yds then out to 1000 or further. These posts on a mile or better are what I call lobing. lol I guess we do have a page to cover plinking - hunting etc. ty guys

    watching wind

    Want to get a idea of what the wind does- on a calm fall day watch the leaves fal halter skelter. Watch the big ol snowflafes do their spiral dance to the ground. Go down to the pons and watch the wind switch on the water. Watch the tumbleweed. Don't fall asleep. Enjoy

    Agree. He sent his brass out to a service that reloads. It comes back in a custom cardboard box [red] it looks factory.

    Shot My First Buck Today In 25 Years

    In NY I have shot 2 road killed deer. One cop was a real prick and said I was going to get ticketed I said do what you decide is right. This will make a great article for the local paper. He did me a favor and let me go lol. The 2nd cop thanked me.. Ya never know.

    243 range on - deer

    My first RUGER rifle. American gen II 243 old mans rifle. Pros - like the trigger, looks and accuracy- 1 moa the 4th 5th+6th shots on the new rifle off my bench.. Cons - the bolt drop or cam over is horrible. With factory ammo.

    I'm the op, this could be a separate post. Me. I benchrest 100 200 300 and 400 every week in the summer. Its I just have never owned a 243 before. However, I bought a new Ruger American II yesterday based on this info. All my stands are setup with adequate rests. We owe it to the animal. thanks...

    Just bought a Ruger 243 with the muzzle break because of ''my'' health reasons, not the deer. What's the farthest out you would shoot a whitetail if you had a good shot in the open? The only rifle I have used for 40 years is my 7 mag for whitetail. ty Don I should add 100 gr. bullet.
