Cheap additive for corn cob media?

Many, many, many members on this forum and members on 2 other forums have purchased once-fired cases which I processed. My 3 vibratory tumblers, ALL use a walnut, corn-cob ratio and it took me months of experimenting to find the ratio which cleaned and polished. Walnut cleans better, Corn-Cob...

    Possible Scam Gun Seller

Ran across another www.primers12.com, after doing some research, the satellite image show a residential subdivision and the county lists it, as a 3 bedroom, 1 bath house. The whole site, looks like a web-page , I would have tried to build 25 years ago. It's either coming from the Caribbean or an...

Spotting scopes - Budget gear even with the effort?

A third type of telescope you may want to investigate is a "MAK" (Maksutov-Cassegrain). Again what yardage are you using it at. This design corrects the problem of "off-axis aberrations" such as coma-aberrations, found in reflecting telescopes, also correcting chromatic aberrations. One just...

    Proper annealing temp?

Where did the Celsius come from? I always presumed, when someone, in the US, speaks of temps, they are referring to Fahrenheit? Epsom salts, love to soak in it, for a couple hours or less, trying not to absorb, to much salt, through ones pores (could be bad for high-blood-pressure). Once a...

    Homemade annealing machine challenge

Nice Project, excellent results. Need a peek in the back. Mine has one motor with 1 gear (upper wheel), toothed to a lower gear (lower wheel). Geared together, the wheels will always travel at the same speed. Use a volt meter, where wires attach to motors, see if voltage is the same. The two...

Forgot to clear tumbling media from flash holes

Dear MSS, why not deprimed first, all the expelled residual left in the primer, the added benefit, getting the pockets exposed, removes burnt-on primers turds, left on the bottom of the pocket. I have a custom, scrapper, it's convex, because all the pocket bottoms I clean are concave. That'll...

Forgot to clear tumbling media from flash holes

Good post. When I add an additive to my media, I'll let it tumble for 30-45 minutes, without the lid on. This lets any moisture evaporate and escape. Clumps develop in the first 5 minutes and dissipate as the minutes go by. If moisture is still in the media, it will show, on the clear lid, I'll...

Forgot to clear tumbling media from flash holes

The primer in theory, should burn the corn-cob out of the way. The delay should be in milliseconds. Look at a piece of corn-cob with a magnifier, then look at a primers flash, with the same magnifier. If you get your eye-sight back let me know. Walnut would give me concern, but the size I use...

Annealing using Tempilaq, Re-use Brass ?

Locked up, staying apart, being told what you can and can not do, who wouldn't be wound up tight? At times, it feels like someone is cranking my handle, real hard. Apologies

    Which Anealing Machine

Yes it does (spin the case) and it comes with "collar inserts" (you can see them in the pic) so you can do a bunch of different calibers. The company will even make custom ones for wildcat cases. Forgot to mention, the AGS Annealer "does NOT" come with a power supply, because they make them in...

Annealing using Tempilaq, Re-use Brass ?

I watched this video, some time ago. I would have to compare it with, a machinist chambering a barrel without using tools for measurements (just his eyeballs). Just take it with a grain of salt. If you feel it works for you, use it, if not, don't.

Annealing using Tempilaq, Re-use Brass ?

I start all my test pieces out under-temp and work my way up, until the correct temp is reached. So "NO" I don't throw them away, but re-anneal, at the correct temp and size them with the rest. I clean the test cases off, as you do, so as not to tumble them again. I also use my Templaq "INSIDE"...

    Which Anealing Machine

The product they (Annealeez) use is Permatex, try and get the red, it resists heat up to 750 degrees, the magic number. I mix a little fine-grain sand, with mine and brush it on. Works Great. If you want to go another route for $230 (save money for something else) you can get one of these, does...
