A couple more personal observations on turning brass with the 21C lathe: (I have two 21C lathes, one set up for 6mm and one for 6.5mm)
For $400 I thought id ask first!
What lengths are they Frank?
SIII 10x50x60 LRTD
0.125 MOA Adjustments
Went to the range twice. Original box and paperwork.
Butler Creek covers...
That hex orients the cutter.
Too tight and it wont adjust with the dial.
Too loose and it may chatter.
Just snug should work.
Either the mandrel is loose.
Cutter is loose.
Neck is loose on the mandrel.
Cutter is chipped.
Couple of notes on turning with this lathe for best results.
1. Brass Neck ID must be snug on the mandrel. Neck size with a bushing if needed.
They love that Trophy Rock!
Sometimes, I would have to look for the damn rock, and bring it back to the stand cause they licked it 50 yards away....
Set up the mandrel depth first with the cutter retracted slightly using a dummy case that fits the mandrel just snug, and has the length trimmed...
One day, Im sitting in my tree stand, and I see a squirrel come along and set his butt on the mouth of the “Y”.
He then proceeded to fling corn...
Oh yes they will!
Mine had two columns, so it used twice as much corn.
