  • Ok so I'm building a gun on my savage PTA. I'm looking at the pre chambered barrels from Douglas and criterion. Anybody have any good/bad experience with these? I would like to hear what you guys think!

  • I have a criterion, mcgowens, shilens etc. The ones I like the best so far are the mcgowens and shilen prefits. Call jim briggs at 1-763-682-4296,he is a big dealer and has the best prices around.

  • In 2010, I had a Rem 700 rebarrel with a Douglas match barrel in 223. It's shoots in the .2's with tuned handloads. VERY PLEASED.

  • I have 5 Criterions and couldnt be more pleased. I have only had one Shilen to make a comparison to but my pick is still the Criterions. They are half MOA and better for us at mid range distances. Jim Briggs is top notch to deal with as well.

  • I have 3 Criterions and 1 Shilen.  When the Shilen needs replaced, it will be with a Criterion.

  • Their almost all are on the same playing field now, take your pick.

I do perfer Shielen and Douglas vs Criterion, McGowan, Kreiger, Brux, Bartlien, etc. are also good.

I look for the one that last the longest and "cleans" the easiest!   ;)
