  • I have a Lee Collet Die for my 223 AI and, like all my Lee Collet Dies, I love it. I have a Forster micrometer seating die.

    ReedG,
I was just on Lees site looking for a .223AI and I only could find .223 dies. Where did you find yours?

  • Wayne, I got mine directly from Lee. Not sure if they list them on the site or not, but I didn't have to send in any cases or anything, just ordered it.

  • Out of all of the hunting dies that I own, I'm not sure that I don't prefer Lee dies. No issues whatsoever. Can't say that about some of the others.

  • I see Midway has them in stock but my main question is: anyone have any problems with them?

The 223 page says they make good ammo but I don't want them to fall apart after 100 rounds.

  • There have been LOTS of comments on this site about Lee Collet Dies. I have them in several calibers and have loaded 1,000s of rounds without a problem and never had one "fall apart". My .223 AI collet die has sized 2,806 rounds in AI about double that in standard .223.

  • None of my .223 dies will allow the extended shoulder of the AI case go more than about 2/3 into the die. The AI dies will all work fine with regular .223 but not vice versa.

  • Not used the 223AI dies, but have loaded thousands of 22-250 Ackley and .280 Ackley with my Lee limited production die sets without a hint of trouble. Graf and Sons had the best price awhile back when you figured in shipping costs. Might give them a look.

  • I used the Lee AI dies for years in a 223AI benchrest rifle. I had the full set - Full length and neck sizer. Worked without a flaw.
